The Frozen sequel isn’t just a kiddie flick, it’s also a great opportunity to sing a good song. The choral oohs and oohs that emanate from nine Elsas onstage is an ethereal experience in itself. The film also has a fair amount of gimmicks to keep you enthralled throughout. The aforementioned “Let It Go” and oh-so-serious ‘Let It Snow’ are not exactly lighthearted moments. However, the sequel’s lesser known numbers include a plethora of songs that deserve a second look.
The aforementioned “Let It Go” may be the only standout, but the film’s other numbers are not to be scoffed at. In fact, the Frozen sequel’s most memorable numbers come from the character formerly known as Hansel and Gretel. The film’s other noteworthy numbers include a trio of elves and a quartet of princes, as well as a slew of pixies and princesses. That’s not to mention the sextet a la Harry Potter, as well as the cast of Gnomes a la The Lego Movie. On top of that, the film’s two titular characters receive a hefty dose of wiggle-room, as well as a bit of swagger.
Aside from its tidbits, the film’s karaoke numbers are not too shabby, especially considering the studio’s budget. Despite the lack of a full choir, a slew of a cappella and en vogue performers are on hand to offer their own bespoke versions of the musical’s best hits. The soundtrack also includes a fair number of songs that deserve a closer look. Among them is “Let It Go”‘s” aforementioned aforementioned aforementioned, the Frozen sequel’s aforementioned aforementioned, as well as its aforementioned aforementioned aforementioned aforementioned and the aforementioned aforementioned aforementioned. On the downside, Menzel and the ensemble’s onstage squeals may be a thing of the past. Hopefully the next time they hit the stage they’ll be on the same page.
